Parent Counseling

यह सेवा विद्यार्थियों के माता-पिता अथवा उनके अभिवावकों को प्रदान की जाती है। सभी स्तर व सभी आयुवर्ग के पालक इसका लाभ ले सकते हैं।

Although parents on an average are adequately concerned about the well being of their child, in certain cases they are unable to fulfill the child's basic needs for reasons such as:-

• 1 They are too engrossed with their own affairs;
• 2. They are not able to accept the child as he is;
• 3. They set unrealistic standards of achievement or show inconsistency in standards;
• 4. They compare the child with others;
• 5. They do not assign responsibility or put too much responsibility on the child;
• 6. The father is lax, overly strict or erratic in disciplining the child;
• 7. Supervision by the mother is only fair or it is inadequate; 
• 8. They are either indifferent or even hostile toward the child;
• 9. Family members are engaged in diverse activities and do not strictly operate as a unit and perhaps over estimate the child;
• 10. Husband –wife relationship between the parents lacks closeness and equality or good partnership;
• 11. The mother finds it difficult to accommodate with the neighbours;
• 12. The parents find lot many things to disapprove of in their child;
• 13. They resort to severe corporeal punishment when the child does something wrong. They find it difficult to keep their temper in control on such occasions.
• 14. The parents believe that other children exert a bad influence upon their child;
• 15. The parents believe they have little influence on the development of their child;
• 16. Leisure time activities of the parents are devoid of any constructive element.
